Eduardo A. La Chall Bencomo, born in Cuba in 1950, is a grand nephew of Cuban artist, Jose A. Bencomo Mena.
The La Chall family moved from Cuba to Venezuela in 1960 and then to the United States in 1962, where they settled in Connecticut.
Ed lived there until 1970. He moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where he received his B.A. in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University in 1975.
While in Boca, he sold his first painting. He returned to Connecticut in 1976, where he started experimenting with different mediums: pen and ink; oil on canvas; stained and fused glass;windows and mosaics; marble, slate and tile floors and walls. His latest medium is art on paper.
He has sold his work all over the United States, and it can be found in Russia and Spain.
Ed has recently relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he is currently building his studio and is looking forward to the next phase of his life. Since moving to St. Pete Ed has had a solo show at the Bohemia Gallery in St. Pete ,and is represented by
Platos gallery in the village of the arts in Bradenton, Fl. He has also done a large outdoor granite mural on 22nd ave. north in
